Creating Cool Chrome Effects with Paint Shop Pro
This tutorial is really quite easy, but not something you'd normally come across anywhere else.
Open a new graphic. I started with a 500x300 image at 16.7 million colors. I used white as the background color because it works best for this effect.
Set the foreground color to white and, using the text tool enter some text.
Use a big bold font! I used Braggadocio at 72 points with bold and anti-aliasing selected.

Choose Selections, Modify, Feather and set the value to 8.
This will give you an image like this:

So far so good. Now here comes the cool trick :)
Choose Image, Special Effects, Hot Wax Coating. Re-apply the hot wax coating. After three coats your image should resemble the following:

Re-apply the hot wax as many times as it takes to make your text resemble chrome. I used 7 coats to arrive at the final image :)
